The Rig

My trusty 4Runner now has a 'friend' that (hopefully) will be following closely wherever it leads. The sweet GeoPro trailer was acquired, outfitted, and subjected to local test runs over the last couple of months.

We've covered some freeway miles and bumpy rural country roads and tested this driver's nerves a bit on Hwy 1 during some lively weather!

One fine day trip was to Nelson Family Vineyards (they are also a 'Harvest Host' and may be an overnight destination too)

Our first 'test' camping on the Sonoma Coast at Wrights Beach was delightful and we experienced a full range of weather in just ~24 hours.

The final 'test camping' was two extremely WINDY overnights at Doran Regional Park, Bodega Bay... a great chance to work on perfecting chocking and stabilizing skills. A fun little adventure and especially memorable since some family celebrations were had too.

After all the weeks of instruction review, practice and preparation at home base and nearby, I deem the driver and rig 'ready' for the main event...knowing full well that numerous lessons will be learned on the road (and some of them may be pricey).
